The Department of English at Government Degree College, Bantumilli, was established in 1974 along with the inception of the college. The department has two sanctioned Lecturer posts in English. At present, both positions are filled by regular Lecturers selected through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and appointed by the Commissioner of Collegiate Education (CCE).
